GNM, or General Nursing and Midwifery, is a 3-year diploma program that trains students in basic nursing skills. The course covers essential healthcare practices and prepares graduates for various clinical nursing roles. Students learn how to care for patients, assist doctors, and handle medical procedures in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments. GNM is ideal for those interested in becoming nurses or midwives and working in the healthcare field. The program equips them with the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience to provide quality care and support to patients in different healthcare settings.

General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Duration: 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria of Admission.
The candidate seeking admission must:

  • Candidate Shall be medically fit for the course.
  • Both female / male candidates can apply.
  • Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on dt: 31st December , The upper age limit for admission is 35 years. The candidate who has passed in ANM course, there is no age bar.
  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks from CHSE Odisha or equivalent thereof, However science is preferable.
  • 5% of total mark is relaxed for SC/ ST candidates.
  • ASHA having 10+2 pass with 40% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates) is eligible for applying to the GNM course.

  • The candidate must be a domicile / permanent resident / native of Odisha.
